In the end, though, it’s McCormick’s willingness to become a collaborative member of Bend’s government, combined with her thoughtful views on the city and its needs, that recommend her for City Council. Voters should give her their support.

I will bring a unique perspective to the Bend City Council. I have a small business background but am currently a stay at home mom in order to care for our two young boys. I believe that what I’m doing right now is the most important and difficult job anyone can do, and it’s a perspective that our current city councilors don’t have.

I don’t want Bend to become like Portland in terms of the homeless dominating the downtown area, or in terms of being in conflict with small business. The homeless problem in Bend is bad and getting worse. The city can help address this problem while preserving everyone’s constitutional rights – it just needs Councilors who WANT to do that.
